"I supported Mark in the last city election when he ran against a former Provo mayor. Because of his work ethic and dedication to Provo, I am happy to endorse him again. I have known the Sumsion family for more than 40 years. I was a freshman legislator together with Mark's father in the mid 1960s. Fred Sumsion was president of the Utah Real Estate Association. As prominent businessmen, the Sumsion family has always exhibited the highest ideals of honesty, fairness and hard work. I am happy to give Mark my full and complete endorsement to carry on the Sumsion family tradition of concern for what is best for Provo and its citizenry."

-Howard C. Nielson
Former U.S. Congressman, Utah Speaker of the House and State Senator

"I believe Mark Sumsion has the experience, vision, drive and ability to help resolve some of the critical issues facing Provo. As a former 12-year member of the city council working with four different mayors, I know the type of qualifications and skills needed to be effective. I am confident that Mark Sumsion will do a great job representing the interests of Provo citizens. He has my full endorsement."

-Mark Hathaway
Former Provo City Councilman

"It is a pleasure to recommend Mark as the one to vote for in Provo District #1 in November. I believe Mark will add a needed element to the Provo City Council and represent the interests of the citizens in the Northeast area. I think this has been lacking over the past 4 years and is very important for our section of the City. Mark is willing to listen to our concerns and spend the time needed to investigate the issues and vote the right way regardless of the pressures applied by other interested parties. Mark has common sense and a background that will be of value in the variety of challenges that come to the Council on a regular basis. He works well with others and has a desire to serve those who live in District #1. I highly recommend him for your vote."

-Paul R. Warner
Former City Councilman

"I have known Mark personally for several years. He is one of the most earnest and determined men I have ever known. I have seen him work tirelessly on behalf of those in need. He has a genuine love for Provo and a sincere desire to see it prosper. He has great leadership capabilities that would serve Provo well should he become elected to city council. I strongly endorse his candidacy."

-Tom Dickinson

"I have known Mark for several years. He is a team player and has a great ability to get things done. Mark has consistently demonstrated sound judgment and has great loyalty for our city. In recent years, I have attended and watched many Provo City council meetings. Mark would be a tremendous addition and would bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the council. Mark is the right choice for Provo!"

-Lee Stephenson

"I strongly endorse Mark Sumsion and his efforts to strengthen and represent the culture and history of Provo. I have been friends of Mark and his family for many years and know that he is a great candidate to represent the people on a broad spectrum of problems and opportunities that will face us in the years to come. He is a savvy business man and a man of his word."

-Jim Lindahl

"Every now and then an individual comes along that is so qualified and so prepared to provide leadership to an organization that you can hardly believe that he hasn't been involved all along. When I first heard that Mark was running for city council I said, "of course he is. He's the perfect man for that job." Over the years, it has been my good fortune to have been involved with Mark in some major administrative responsibilities, and I have found him to be, not only equal to those tasks, but to have done those tasks in such a profoundly capable way that those he was involved with were lifted and blessed because of his leadership. I recommend him to this community without reservation."

-David W. Reeves

"I have known Mark Sumsion and his family for 20 years. I know Mark is honest in his dealings and fair in his judgements. He is truly a citizen of Provo and has genuine concern for the welfare of his city. I can fully support and endorse Mark for the City Council."

-Charles Stewart

"Mark and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Provo. I have known and admired his family throughout my life. We have had numerous conversations concerning the affairs of Provo over the past few years and I have found that his ideas and solutions all seem to make a great deal of sense to me. I often wonder why someone would subject themselves and their families to the sacrifices required of public service. I believe that in Mark's case, he is truly driven by a love of Provo and a desire to pay back this community for being such a great place in which to live. He has my wholehearted support."

-Richard Willes

"Although I have never spoken with Mark about his running for office, I am pleased to see him campaign for City Council. We definitely need a new voice and I'm convinced he is the right person for the job. Mark will bring the financial, business, and other experience and skills we need to tackle both the seemingly small and the terribly difficult issues. More important, Mark will act with common sense and integrity. A vote for Mark Sumsion is a wise choice for the future of Provo City."
